Fall 2007

BI 103 BIBLE DOCTRINES I (3) - A comprehensive study of the essential doctrines of the Scriptures from a Baptist, pre-millennial, pre-tribulation, dispensational perspective. This course deals primarily with the doctrines of Theology Proper (God), Christology (Christ), and Pneumatology (The Holy Spirit). The errors of Calvinistic (Reformed/Covenant)  theology are exposed.

EN 101 ENGLISH COMPOSITION & GRAMMAR (3) - A review of sentence structure, punctuation, spelling, paragraph development, and essay organization as an introduction to the writing process, essays and autobiographies. Emphasis is placed on expository writing. A minimum grade of “C” is required to pass this course.

NT 208 ROMANS (3) - A close look at the message of salvation through the Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other Epistles, and its relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.

PS 115 PASTORAL DYNAMICS (1) - In depth study of the practical issues that a Baptist minister faces in today’s society. Special attention is given the call and responsibilities of the man of God as he serves in the local NT Church.

SP 101 FUNDAMENTALS OF SPEECH (3) - Emphasis on the basic principles of public speaking, with practical applications on platform techniques, and a study of the different types of speech.

Winter Interim 2007

NT 102 MATTHEW (3)  - Christ-centered redemptive approach to Matthew’s Gospel which depicts the Lord Jesus Christ as the Despised, Rejected, Savior King. The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other books in the Gospels, and its relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.

Spring 2008

BI 104 BIBLE DOCTRINES II(3) - Continuation studies of the essential doctrines of the Scriptures from a Baptist, pre-millennial, pre-tribulation, dispensational perspective. This semester deals primarily with the doctrines of Anthropology (Man), Ecclesiology (The Church), Soteriology, Angelology (Angels), and Eschatology (Last Days). EN 102 ADVANCED COMPOSITION & GRAMMAR (3) - Prerequisite: “C” in EN 101 - An introduction to academic writing emphasizing argumentation, research, documentation, and style, centering on the library paper. A minimum grade of “C” is required to pass this course.

NT 212 EPHESIANS (3)  - Introduction, exegesis, and exposition of key Prison Epistle passages. The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other Epistles, and to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.

MI 101 BIBLICAL BASIS OF MISSIONS (3) - A study of the biblical basis for missions including the call, qualifications, and preparation of missionary candidates, the relation of the pastor to missions, and the role of the local NT church in missions.

OT 403 DANIEL (3) - A study of Daniel’s prophetic writings in light of their historical and  practical significance to the believer. An understanding of both the Gospel of Matthew, and the book of The Revelation is a prerequisite for this course

Winter Interim 2008

NT 302 PASTORAL EPISTLES (3)  - An introduction, exegesis, and exposition of the epistles of I & II Timothy and Titus with a special focus on key passages. The importance of the placement of the books in the cannon of Scripture, their relationship to the other Epistles, and to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.

 


BI205 Bibliology - Dr Thomas M. Strouse
Study of  the materials, men and methods of the discipline of textual criticism. The contrasts between the Textus Receptus (TR), Critical Text (CT), and Majority Text (MajT) are explored in order to equip students with a the tools which to evaluate resultant translations/paraphrases from these texts

PS223 Baptist Polity - Pastor Bob Wallace
Principles of  organization  and  administration  of  the  local New Testament Baptist Church. Duties of the pastor and church officers are outlined. Baptist distinctives are defined, studied, and related to Christian Doctrine.

OT306 Ecclesiastes - Dr Ray Borah
An analysis of the historical background, authorship, and poetical structure of the book of Ecclesiastes. Special emphasis is given to the messianic aspects, devotional elements, and the book’s potential for character development as observed through the eyes of The Preacher, who believes that  life is temporary and enigmatic, and that God is eternal and sovereign.

NT211 Galatians - Dr Ray Borah
Introduction, exegesis, and exposition of key Prison Epistle passages. The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other Epistles, and to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.

HI 410 History and Theology of Revival - Dr. John VanGelderen
A survey of the historical data, and an in-depth analysis of the spiritual aspects of the revivals of the recent past, including the theological particulars, spiritual practice, and supernatural power of those who were participants in the various revivals. 

NT403 Johannine Letters - Dr Ray Borah
An introduction, exposition, and exegesis of the three epistles of John with emphasis on key passages. The importance of the placement of the books in the cannon of Scripture, their relationship to the other Epistles, and to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.

NT105 John Part I - Dr Ray Borah
Christ- centered redemptive approach to John’s Gospel as it reveals the Lord Jesus Christ as God. The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other books in the Gospels, and its relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.

BI301 Layers of Context In Scripture - Dr Charles Logan Parker
A Biblical methodology which approaches the study of Scripture from seven basic layers of context, thereby affording a larger picture of everything in the Bible.

OT410 Minor Prophets - Dr Charles Logan Parker
A survey  of  the final twelve  books of the last section of the Old Testament. with emphasis on the Messianic, Soteriological and Eschatological sections. Special attention is given to the fact that these books provide the microscopic call to redemption.

TH212 Theology Proper - Dr Art Sinski
A systematic study  of the doctrine of Theology Proper [God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit], including an examination of basic terms and passages, and discussion of current issues.

 

 

 

 

The Adjunct Faculty Bachelor’s and Master's Degree programs at North Love Baptist Bible College are designed especially for people busy in the ministry. Two one week courses are offered in June, and a one week course in December. Candidates for a Master's degree need to complete 11 courses, and write a 50 page Master’s Thesis on a subject approved by the administration.

Classes meet M-F from 7:00a.m.-12:00 p.m. Assigned reading and papers are required for each class. A final exam is usually scheduled on the sixth day.

Limited housing is available in the homes of the people of North Love Baptist Church.
